Meet Bryony – Your Pilates Teacher

I am a Contemporary and Classical Pilates instructor based in Whitton, SW London, with 25 years of experience working across rehabilitation, functional movement, and sports-specific training. I teach at Whitton Community Centre, St Michael's Church in Chiswick, and online via Zoom, with private sessions available in my fully equipped home studio or at your home across Twickenham, Richmond, and the surrounding areas.

Whether you are managing a health condition, returning to movement after injury or illness, or looking to improve your performance as a runner, golfer, or tennis player, the work is always tailored specifically to you.

My Teaching Philosophy

Pilates works best when you actually understand what your body is doing and why. That is what I focus on in every session, whether you are brand new to movement or have been practising for years. The work is precise, the attention is genuine, and the goal is always progress that lasts beyond the class itself.

Happy Clients

  • Bryony’s online Pilates classes are perfect for me. Convenient and easy to fit into a busy schedule but there is no compromise on personal attention as Bryony’s expert eagle eye sees everything and she is very sensitive to everybody’s individual needs. Professional safe hands with a fun and informal delivery.

  • Best experience with Pilates in a group ! After years of doing Pilates in a gym and privately on reformer I found this combination of online and in class formula really effective. Bryony is an excellent teacher very knowledgeable about the physiology as well as hands on demonstration going from one person to next. You feel the difference! Online she is monitoring our cameras and giving feedback when needed. A great class! Full of energy annd humour and immediate results!

  • I've known Bryony for many years and have attended Pilates classes as well as one to one reformer pilates sessions with her. I've always considered Bryony's pilates an essential part of my wellbeing, and it was an integral part of my recovery after a car accident a few years ago. I've joined Bryony for a pilates retreat in November, which was absolutely fantastic. Bryony teaches in a very easy to understand manner, she is extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and hands-on. I consider the retreat as a highlight of my wellbeing journey and loved every minute, I can't wait for the next retreat.

  • I have been doing Pilates regularly for about 20 yrs, mainly in gym classes. When the pandemic came, I started running more but I missed my Pilates classes. Bryony had always been my favourite Pilates teacher but she had moved on from my local gym. Luckily I learned she was doing zoom Pilates during the pandemic. Zoom classes have advantages. Bryony checks everyone in at start of class. You can report injuries and niggles. She will adapt the class to fit in an exercise/stretch that helps to sort your problem. The smaller classes mean more individual attention.

  • I like the way she often builds to a full exercise by working on the individual parts first. You get to practice all the movements before putting them together. I find this helps me to appreciate what muscles I'm using and what I should feel when doing the exercises. Bryony gets you working all parts of your body from neck to toes. (I like the spiky balls for my toes.) She gives personalized tips and variations, challenging you to work just that bit harder and encouraging you to do your best. I have had classes with a variety of good Pilates teachers but for me Bryony is simply the BEST!

Equipment & Products I Actually Use

Both of these are brands I use personally and recommend to clients regularly. If you want to build out your home Pilates practice between sessions, these are good places to start.

Pink yoga mat with CoreBalance logo, a blue resistance band with gray handles, and two 0.5 kg teal dumbbells on a wooden floor.

CORE BALANCE

Core Balance supplies the small equipment I use across my classes: stability balls, resistance bands, gliding discs, spiky balls, and more.

DOTERRA

doTERRA essential oils are something I reach for regularly, particularly Deep Blue for muscle recovery and Lavender for rest and nervous system support.

These tools extend my classes and retreats into your daily life.
